At the behest of Eco-containerwash, Marine Systems has developed the container cleaner.
The developed container cleaner is an automated container cleaner which can clean the inside of a wide variety of containers, using an extendable arm equipped with brushes on its head (refrigerated containers, refrigerated trailers, dry containers, open-top containers in both standard and high cube 20 ft, 40 ft and 45 ft with various floors).
In the first phase, engineers from Marine Systems examined and analysed the entire washing process of various container depots. Before the engineering began, a scope containing all starting points was established.
The scope of the project included the following activities:
- Researching the current process;
- Determining the result to be achieved;
- Engineering container cleaner;
- Producing container cleaner;
- Implementing test phases (including a practice location);
- Delivering a container cleaner prototype.
During the engineering and production of the container cleaner, Marine Systems was given the freedom to develop an ideal installation according to its own insight. For this purpose, Marine Systems has gathered relevant information from persons/organisations involved in the washing process and/or logistical processes of containers. The container cleaner can therefore be used flexibly at different locations.
Knowledge of various disciplines was required during the engineering and realisation of the container cleaner. The following disciplines played a role in the development of the container cleaner:
- Engineering (container cleaner);
- Mechanical engineering (frame, extension arm and brush unit);
- Electrical engineering (panel construction, cabling and PLC control);
- Industrial automation; (control and online cloud environment);
- Water treatment;
- Sensor technology.
All statistics can be read per period of your choice. When a client has several container cleaners at different locations, the statistics can easily be compared with each other.
In the future, Marine Systems will act as a manufacturer, installation and maintenance partner and will provide training for operators.
