Marine Systems engineered and built a refrigerated container, commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat. The refrigerated container is used (on a ship) to keep samples at the desired temperature during measurements (in both a salt and fresh water environment). The 10ft container has a portal containing an ultra-freezer and the access door to the cooling section. The cooling section contains 7m³.
After building the refrigerated container, Marine Systems carried out both a factory acceptance test and site acceptance test in the presence of Rijkswaterstaat. After both tests were completed with satisfaction, Rijkswaterstaat put the refrigerated container into use. The refrigerated container is usually used in combination with an environmental measuring container or a centrifuge container.
The design and construction of the refrigerated container is part of an agreement in which six environmental measurement containers, six centrifuge containers and two mobile trailers are also built. In relation to the containers, Marine Systems also carries out preventive and corrective maintenance for a period of 15 years.
